In this case, these are U-shaped, and loop over your ear, and the speaker portion actually “hovers” over top of your ear canal. They call these “Open-Ear” earbuds. The advantage being, that not having an ear bud actually inside your ear, you can still hear your music or calls, but also be able to hear what’s going on around you, making it much safer when you are walking or jogging or just at home.
