Simply copy that text to Notepad and save it with .reg extension, for example, "FC_folder_view.reg" and simply run it with Enter key. Don't forget to restart FC XE after that settings applied. And don't forget to make a registry backup BEFORE apllying .reg file in case you'll don't like such a behaviour! You should only check your current FC XE path @=""C:\\Program Files (x86)\\FreeCommander XE\\FreeCommander.exe" /C /L="%1""If you have 32-bit version installed in C:\Program Files (x86)\FreeCommander XE\ then everything is fine, if not - change path. horst.epp Posts: 498 Joined: 15.11.2008, 20:18 Re: Set FreeCommander XE 2015 As default folder view in Win #6 Post by horst.epp » 06.01.2016, 18:57 Since several Windows versions you need the following as first line and not REGEDIT4Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 Windows 11 Home, Version 24H2 (OS Build 26100.3476)Everything Version 1.5.0.1391a (x64), Everything Toolbar 1.5.1, Listary Pro 6.3.2.88FreeCommander XE 2025 Build 926 64-bit donor rich1344 Posts: 3 Joined: 18.03.2016, 20:39 Location: Redwood City, CA USA Re: Set FreeCommander XE 2015 As default folder view in Win #7 Post by rich1344 » 18.03.2016, 21:34 I'm onFreeCommander XE 2025 Build 685 (2025) -

But maybe standin000 did the same mistake as I did and maybe changing that value from 1 to 0 fixes his issue. standin000 Posts: 8 Joined: 04.11.2014, 08:17 Re: how to update FreeCommander.ini smoothly #11 Post by standin000 » 23.03.2015, 02:05 joby_toss wrote:Tested your .ini and I'd like to ask you to open it and delete this line:Tell us if it works after that. You should only check your current FC XE path @=""C:\\Program Files (x86)\\FreeCommander XE\\FreeCommander.exe" /C /L="%1""If you have 32-bit version installed in C:\Program Files (x86)\FreeCommander XE\ then everything is fine, if not - change path. horst.epp Posts: 498 Joined: 15.11.2008, 20:18 Re: Set FreeCommander XE 2015 As default folder view in Win #6 Post by horst.epp » 06.01.2016, 18:57 Since several Windows versions you need the following as first line and not REGEDIT4Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 Windows 11 Home, Version

It is a tough work to move all customize setting from old version to new version by hand.Could somebody help me? Thanks! Last edited by standin000 on 20.03.2015, 02:45, edited 1 time in total. For some reason, this line makes version 685 impossible to start (at least in my case). I have setting OneInstance=1 from immemorial time and never had problems with FC XE start. joby_toss Posts: 1345 Joined: 22.07.2009, 21:19 Location: Romania Contact: Re: how to update FreeCommander.ini smoothly #8 Post by joby_toss » 20.03.2015, 21:35 My .ini also has it. But I've tried his .ini with a fresh copy of FC XE 685 public portable and that's what happened. Can anyone else try it? But maybe standin000 did the same mistake as I did and maybe changing that value from 1 to 0 fixes his issue. standin000 Posts: 8 Joined: 04.11.2014, 08:17 Re: how to update FreeCommander.ini smoothly #11 Post by standin000 » 23.03.2015, 02:05 joby_toss wrote:Tested your .ini and I'd like to ask you to open it and delete this line:Tell us if it works after that.
